Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist has opened its first 24/7 urgent care clinic, dedicated to treating patients of all ages, no matter the day or the time.
The new practice, Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist Urgent Care – Kernersville, is located at 111 Gateway Center Dr. and is now open 24 hours a day, seven days a week, including holidays.
The facility provides both adult and pediatric urgent care services, along with on-site X-rays and a separate waiting area for pediatric patients. Occupational medicine services are also available in the same building, Monday through Friday, from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
“This new location allows us to increase access to health care for everyone in our community, especially families with children, when they have unexpected illnesses or minor medical emergencies,” said Dr. Chad Miller, chair of emergency medicine at Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist. “From newborns to older adults, our providers are ready to provide convenient and expert care for patients of any age, at any time of the day or night, even on weekends and holidays.”
When further consultations or treatments are necessary, the health care providers at Urgent Care – Kernersville have direct access to the resources and specialists at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center and Brenner Children’s Hospital.
People do not have to be existing Wake Forest Baptist patients to be seen at this new location. No appointments are required, and walk-in patients are always welcome.
Urgent care facilities can be a convenient option for those who have minor injuries or illnesses, but doctors always remind people that in the event of a serious medical issue or life-threatening emergency, they should call 911 or go to the nearest emergency department.
