Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist has added a pediatrics practice in northwest Greensboro.
Northwest Pediatrics, located at 4529 Jessup Grove Rd. in Greensboro, has been serving children and adolescents since 2001, under the leadership of Dr. Janet Dees.
Dees has retired from medicine and decided that her practice should join the Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist and Atrium Health Levine Children’s family. All nine health care providers - four pediatricians and five advanced practice providers - will continue in their current roles.
“For more than 20 years, Dr. Dees and her team have provided high quality and compassionate care to children and families and we are honored that she saw us as the best choice to carry on the tradition of this beloved pediatrics practice in Greensboro,” said Alisa Starbuck, vice president of women’s and children’s services at Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist and president of Atrium Health Levine Children’s Brenner Children’s Hospital. “Everything families know and love about Northwest Pediatrics will remain the same and will now include easier access to pediatric and children’s specialists and other services as part of the largest children’s team in the region.”
The practice has been renamed as Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist Pediatrics Northwest and is open for patients.
Some of the benefits to families include:
- Affiliation with Atrium Health Levine Children’s Brenner Children’s Hospital, the region’s only children’s hospital and pediatric emergency department, Level I pediatric trauma center and Level I children’s surgery center
- Direct access to specialists in more than 30 areas of pediatric medicine at Brenner Children’s Hospital and Wake Forest University School of Medicine
- Video visits, for urgent care and with patients’ existing providers
- Access to the MyAtriumHealth patient portal, which includes secure live chats with a nurse, messages with the child’s pediatrician and the ability to schedule appointments
Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist has more than 30 primary, specialty and urgent care practices in Greensboro, including two practices that opened earlier this year: Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist Urgent Care New Garden, which offers care for adults and children of all ages, with extended evening and weekend hours and on-site pediatric health care providers, and Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist Family Medicine Irving Park.
Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist Medical Plaza Friendly Center will open later this summer and will include family medicine, imaging and urgent care.
