Cheers! for Brenner Children's Hospital Event Raises More than $427,000 for PatientsThe 19th annual Cheers! fundraiser for Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist Brenner Children's Hospital, presented by Simply Southern, raised more than $427,000.  The annual event, held on Friday, Nov. 3 at the Millennium Center in downtown Winston-Salem, provided an evening of celebration and support for a great cause, and was a resounding success, according to organizers.

Brenner Children's Hospital is the only children’s hospital and Level I pediatric trauma center in the area.

“Our hospital, which serves as a beacon of hope and healing for families across our region, would not exist without the vision and the generosity of the Brenner family,” said Alisa Starbuck, D.N.P., president of Brenner Children’s Hospital. “They had the goal early on to create a space specifically for children and now, each year we serve over 66,000 children, who come to us from 19 counties and four states. The funds raised through this signature event stay right here, but the impacts are significantly spread throughout the region that we serve. This community has stood by Brenner Children’s Hospital for more than two decades and I just can’t say ‘thank you’ enough. The support enables our team to do amazing things for children every day.”

Over the last 19 years, this event has raised more than $2 million for Brenner Children’s.

The primary focus of Cheers! is to raise vital funds for Brenner Children's Hospital, including assisting families with medications, travel expenses and meals, providing pain management therapies for patients, securing necessary home health equipment and providing support for bereavement programs and services.
