Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist Davie Medical Center Receives 5th 'A' Hospital Safety Grade

November 21, 2023

Highlighting its nationally recognized achievements in patient safety and quality, Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist Davie Medical Center has recently received an 'A' grade from The Leapfrog Group.  This is the fifth consecutive 'A' hospital safety grade for Davie Medical Center.

"We are proud of our team members at Davie Medical Center who make this award possible," said Chad Brown, president of Davie Medical Center. "This achievement shows our hard work and commitment to providing the highest quality of care to our patients, families and community."

Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grades (formerly known as Hospital Safety Scores) are assigned to nearly 3,000 general acute-care hospitals across the nation twice a year.

The Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade uses up to 30 national performance measures from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), the Leapfrog Hospital Survey and information from other supplemental data sources. Taken together, those performance measures produce a single letter grade representing a hospital’s overall performance in keeping patients safe from preventable harm and medical errors. The Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade methodology has been peer reviewed and published in the Journal of Patient Safety.
