Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center has been named to Newsweek’s 2023 list of America’s Best Cancer Hospitals.
Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center, which is home to the region’s only National Cancer Institute-designated Comprehensive Cancer Center, part of Atrium Health Levine Cancer, is the only hospital in the region included in the list.
In addition, Wake Forest Baptist is the only hospital in North Carolina to be recognized for a notable treatment (breast cancer).
“This award is a testament to the dedication of our entire team to care for our patients as if they are our own loved ones, and reduce the burden of cancer on our communities,” said Dr. Ruben Mesa, executive director of Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist Comprehensive Cancer Center, president of Atrium Health Levine Cancer and vice dean for cancer programs at Wake Forest University School of Medicine.
“Each person on our team is part of our shared mission to constantly improve the care we provide, help develop new treatments and offer new clinical studies, all in an effort to help our patients become cancer survivors.”
Newsweek partnered with Statista to compile the list. According to Newsweek, the list was compiled from a nationwide online survey, hospital quality metrics and patient experience.
