Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist Wilkes Medical Center has announced its most recent BEE Award Winner, Jodi Potts, CNA II, a certified nursing assistant (CNA).

The BEE Award recognizes team members outside of nursing and coincides with the DAISY Award, which honors nurses. The BEE award was created because, just as in nature, bees are loyal and hardworking. The bee cannot exist without the daisy and the daisy cannot exist without the bee.

When asked why she became a CNA, Potts said, "I became a CNA because I simply enjoy being able to lend a helping hand. I try to make everyday a good day for my patients by doing whatever I can to help them and make their stay with us more comfortable."

Potts' manager, Brandy Edmiston, said, "Jodi is such a consistently hardworking and compassionate teammate. She is a tremendous asset to our team, always going the extra mile to ensure that her patient's needs are met!"

Potts' assistant manager, Jessica Absher, said, "Jodi is well-deserving of the BEE award. She is the epitome of an outstanding employee, patient caregiver and advocate. She goes above and beyond to care for the most acutely ill patients in the facility. She is reliable, detail oriented and self-sufficient. She is irreplaceable in our department and deserves every ounce of this recognition for the outstanding care she delivers to the patients and families of the ICU."

The next BEE award winner will be announced in April 2023.
