High Point Medical Center proudly welcomes Robert Ferguson, DO to our growing staff of medical providers. Dr. Ferguson will see patients at Wake Forest Baptist Health High Point Medical Center beginning in August 2019.
Dr. Ferguson is a board certified general surgeon. Originally from West Virginia, Dr. Ferguson earned his Bachelor of Science from West Virginia University in Morgantown, WV. He then completed his Doctor of Osteopathy at West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine in Lewisburg, WV and completed a residency in general surgery at Virginia Tech Carillion School of Medicine in Roanoke, VA. Dr. Ferguson will soon complete his cardiothoracic surgery fellowship at Wake Forest Baptist Health in Winston Salem in June 2019.

Cardiothoracic surgeons treat a variety of pathologies including coronary artery disease, heart valve disease and diseases of the aorta. They also provide a surgical cure for cancer of the lungs and esophagus. Our team provides highly specialized, expert surgical care and support for patients at Congdon Heart and Vascular Center and the Hayworth Cancer Center at High Point Medical Center.
Dr. Ferguson will be performing both cardiac and thoracic surgery with a special focus on robotic lung surgery as well as minimally invasive coronary bypass procedures.
