The town councils of Bermuda Run, Cooleemee and Mocksville have approved resolutions of support for the proposed Davie Hospital.
The three local governing bodies all noted that the application of Davie County Hospital/Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center to replace the aging Davie County Hospital would meet the current and future healthcare needs of the growing county. The Davie County Board of Commissioners previously adopted a resolution supporting the proposed hospital.
The resolutions point out that the proposed hospital will be located in an area designated for commercial development with improved access on Hwy 801 at Interstate 40. The site will be convenient to most residents of the County, as well as adjoining Forsyth and Yadkin counties.
The proposed hospital will have 50 beds and a broad range of services needed by residents of Davie County, including surgical, diagnostic imaging and 24-hour emergency care.
Citizens wishing to express their support for Davie’s application can speak at the State’s public hearing at 2 p.m. May 12 at Cornerstone Christian Church on Hwy 801.
