WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – Ronald H. Small, formerly director of pharmacy at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center, has accepted the position of vice president for quality outcomes.
Small has served the hospital for 29 years in various positions of responsibility, most recently as director of pharmacy. In 2003, under Small’s leadership, the hospital received recognition from the Institute for Health Care Improvement for excellence in quality related to antimicrobial management. In 1996 Wake Forest Baptist was one of the first hospitals in the nation to begin using a robotic drug dispensing system for filling inpatient prescriptions.
“Ron Small has led many initiatives over the years that have contributed to excellence in patient care,” said Len B. Preslar Jr., president and CEO of North Carolina Baptist Hospital. “He is well prepared to lead in the crucial area of quality outcomes.”
