Provocative Speaker Will Offer Healthy Living Tips

October 7, 2004

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – "How to Die Healthy and Live Well" – including the hazards of being normal – is the topic for a fun and provocative presentation Friday (Oct. 8) by Donald B. Ardell, Ph.D., a prolific writer and speaker in the health promotion movement.

Ardell, a worldwide lecturer and the author of 16 books, a quarterly wellness report and a weekly electronic newsletter, will speak as part of Alumni Weekend at Wake Forest University School of Medicine. He will describe the nature of "lifestyle artistry" and offer 12 suggestions about how to live well and die healthy.

Ardell inspires his audiences to adopt wellness attitudes and teaches self-management principles. He puts his message to practice in his own life, as a top-rated All-American triathlete in his age group and a champion runner.

His presentation will begin about 1:50 p.m. Friday in Babcock Auditorium at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center. The program is free and open to the public.
