WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – Eleven registered nurses at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center received The Great 100 award during a ceremony held in Greensboro on Sept. 25.
The recipients are Kari L. Crawford, M.S., A.P.R.N., B.C., pediatric nurse practitioner for cardiothoracic surgery; Phyllis Graham, R.N., B.S.N., patient care team co-manager for plastic and orthopedic surgery; Kendra Grubbs, R.N., B.S.N., assistant unit manager for the burn unit; Anne Ayo Harris, R.N., B.S.N., staff nurse preceptor; Jan Frye Hill, B.S.N., R.N., C.C.M., rehabilitation program coordinator for CompRehab; Lisa E. Hodges, R.N., B.S.N., O.C.N., director of nursing education and research for hematology and oncology; Heather Thompson Mackey, R.N., M.S.N., A.N.P, A.O.C.N., nurse practitioner in palliative care; Karla A. Ruth-Spencer, R.N., staff nurse for the General Clinical Research Center; Gregory L. Smith, R.N., C.C.R.N., staff nurse for day hospital; Nancy Ferguson Stroud, R.N., staff nurse for the General Clinical Research Center; and Sandy Zeigler Wiles, R.N., O.C.N., staff nurse for radiation oncology.
The Great 100 recognizes 100 registered nurses throughout North Carolina for their excellence in the nursing profession, contributions to the community, and efforts toward improving patient care and nursing education.
