The public is invited to have free health screenings and get free health information at the MarketPlace Mall health fair Saturday, April 17, from
10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Free screenings and exhibits, from more than 20 different groups, include:
- Total cholesterol and "good" (HDL) cholesterol screenings provided by Target Health and Screening Services of Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center. Registration for the cholesterol screenings is required; call Target Health at 716-1270.
- Blood pressure screenings provided by the Medical Center''s Hypertension Center.
- Diabetes screenings from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. provided by the Winston-Salem State University Department of Nursing students and staff.
- Jaws of Life demonstration at 11:30 a.m. provided by the Forsyth Rescue Squad.
The health fair and screenings are free and open to the public. The fair is sponsored by Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center, MarketPlace Mall, and the Phi Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority.
MarketPlace Mall is located at 2101 Peters Creek Parkway.
