David Fitzgerald, MD named Medical Director for Heart & Vascular Services at High Point Medical Center

High Point Medical Center has named David Fitzgerald, MD as Medical Director for Heart & Vascular Services at the organization.  In this capacity Dr. Fitzgerald will be responsible for providing leadership, clinical oversight and strategic input into the heart and vascular service line at High Point Medical Center and High Point Medical Center.

seeing them continue to excel in delivering high quality, cutting edge medical services to our community and this region.”

Currently Dr. Fitzgerald is a practicing Electrophysiologist for High Point Medical Center Carolina Cardiology and he will continue to see patients in addition to his new role.  With more than 37 years of experience, Dr. Fitzgerald has held various leadership and teaching positions with Cornerstone Healthcare, Texas A&M College of Medicine, Wake Forest University Health Sciences and the Bowman Grey School of Medicine.  He has published multiple journal articles and is board certified in internal medicine, cardiology and clinical cardiac electrophysiology.

Dr. Fitzgerald completed his undergraduate studies at the University of New Orleans, medical school at Louisiana State University School of Medicine, a cardiology fellowship at Tulane University and a cardiac electrophysiology fellowship at University of Oklahoma.
