Flu season is here and it is also time to get your annual flu shot.
What is the flu and why is prevention so important for your family? Influenza (the flu) is a contagious respiratory illness caused by the influenza virus. It can cause mild to severe illness, but can also be serious and even lead to death. Some people — such as older people, young children and people with compromised immune systems — are at higher risk for serious flu complications. The best way to prevent the flu is by getting vaccinated each year.
Join Dr. Sal D’Allura with High Point Medical Center Urgent Care to learn about flu prevention, treatment and complications.
