Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center emergency medicine physician, Jason P. Stopyra, M.D., is known for his outstanding compassion and care toward all patients.
Stopyra is now being recognized as one of 10 finalists for North Carolina Doctor of the Year, nominated by members of the North Carolina Medical Society in honor of North Carolina Doctors’ Day celebrated on March 30.
Assistant professor of emergency medicine at Wake Forest Baptist, Stopyra also serves as staff physician at Mountain Valley Hospice & Palliative Care in Mount Airy and practices as an emergency physician for Randolph County Emergency Services in Asheboro.
Working alongside community partners, he is helping create a “community paramedic” program to assist patients discharged from the hospital to prevent readmissions.
Stopyra earned his medical degree at the University of Buffalo in Buffalo, New York. He completed his residency in emergency medicine at Wake Forest Baptist.
