Wake Forest Baptist Inpatient Rehabilitation Receives Reaccreditation

March 23, 2010

The Inpatient Rehabilitation Program at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center has received reaccreditation from the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF) for its rehabilitation, brain injury, and stroke specialty programs.

This is the fifth consecutive three-year accreditation that the international accrediting body has awarded to Wake Forest Baptist.  “The CARF accreditation process has provided a solid foundation for our comprehensive and robust interdisciplinary approach to care delivery,” said Amy Crews, administrative director of Rehabilitation Services.

This represents the highest level of accreditation that can be awarded to an organization and shows the organization’s substantial conformance to the CARF standards.  An organization receiving a three-year accreditation has put itself through a rigorous peer-review process and has demonstrated to a team of surveyors during an on-site visit that its programs and services are of the highest quality and are measurable and accountable.
