New Cardiologist Joins Wake Forest Baptist’s Heart Center

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – Min Pu, M.D., Ph.D., has joined the Heart Center at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center as a professor of Internal Medicine – Cardiology.

Pu received his medical degree at Luzhou Medical College and his Ph.D. from Shanghai Second Medical University in China. He completed residencies at The First Hospital/ West China University of Medical Sciences, and the Mt. Sinai School of Medicine/Bronx VA Medical Center, and completed fellowships at Shanghai Second Medical University, The First Hospital/ West China University of Medical Sciences, and the Department of Cardiology at The Cleveland Clinic Foundation.  

Before coming to Wake Forest Baptist, he was director of Echocardiography Research at Penn State University and an associate professor at Ohio State University’s Ross Heart Hospital.

Pu is a fellow of the American College of Cardiology and has received board certification in internal medicine, cardiovascular disease and adult echocardiography. His interests include valvular heart disease, heart failure, echocardiographic assessment of heart structure and function, and new cardiovascular imaging technologies, including 3-D transesophageal echocardiography and cardiac dysynchrony and resynchronization therapy in heart failure. He has more than 40 publications in peer-reviewed journals and has received multiple awards in the United States.
