The Yadkin County Board of Commissioners has endorsed the proposed Davie Hospital to be located near southern Yadkin County.
The Board adopted a resolution supporting the Certificate of Need requested by Davie County Hospital and Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center to build a 50-bed hospital on Hwy 801 near I-40.
“Southern Yadkin County is included in the service area of the proposed hospital,” said Donny Lambeth, Interim President and Chief Operating Officer of NC Baptist Hospital. “The location will be convenient to many residents of southern Yadkin County.”
The resolution notes that the Davie Hospital will have a broad range of services needed by the residents of southern Yadkin County, including surgical, diagnostic imaging and 24-hour emergency care. “Our goal is to complement the services offered by Hoots Memorial, which is a smaller hospital,” said Lambeth. “For example, we envision surgery being performed at Davie Hospital and follow-up therapy at Hoots.”
“We believe the combination of Davie and Hoots will improve access to healthcare by reducing the number of trips our citizens make to Winston-Salem,” said Kim Phillips, Chair of the Yadkin County Board of Commissioners.

Yadkin County residents are encouraged to voice their support at the State’s public hearing, beginning at 2 p.m. May 12 at Cornerstone Christian Church on Hwy 801.
