Eisenach Named Editor-in-Chief of Medical Journal

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – James C. Eisenach, M.D., has been selected as the editor-in-chief of Anesthesiology, the journal of the American Society of Anesthesiologists with a circulation of 40,000.

Eisenach is the FM James III Professor of Anesthesiology and the Department of Anesthesiology’s Vice Chair for Research. He is board certified in anesthesiology and specializes in obstetric anesthesia. Eisenach also conducts laboratory and clinical research focusing on understanding mechanisms of chronic pain and identifying new treatments.

Eisenach earned his medical degree from the University of California at San Francisco and completed his residency at the Mayo Clinic. He completed a fellowship at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center.
