Blumstein Elected Officer of National Organization

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – Howard Blumstein, M.D., medical director of the Department of Emergency Medicine at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center, has been elected secretary/treasurer of the American Academy of Emergency Medicine.

The academy is the specialty society of emergency medicine and has 5,000 members nationwide. The officers are responsible for the day-to-day operations of the association and can be elected to serve a maximum of two consecutive two-year terms.

Blumstein’s medical degree is from Temple University School of Medicine. He completed a residency and fellowship at the Medical College of Pennsylvania and is board certified in emergency medicine. He is an assistant professor at Wake Forest University School of Medicine.
