Lenoir Physician Makes Gift to Wake Forest University School of Medicine

Jack L. Church, M.D., of Lenoir, an associate clinical professor of radiology at Wake Forest University School of Medicine, has established the Jack L. Church, M.D. (Colonel, USAR, Retired) Award Fund, perpetuating his 30-year relationship with the institution. The fund will uphold the mission of educational excellence in the department of radiology and provide support for its priority needs, including lectureships in the fields of radiology and imaging.

Church is a philanthropist who has supported many national and international endeavors, including hospitals, chapels and scholarships. He was instrumental in establishing the library at Africa University in Zimbabwe, which was the only private university in the country at the time.

Church’s gift was made in honor of his many friends and colleagues at the Medical Center, including Caroline Chiles, M.D., Allen D. Elster, M.D., David L. Kelly Jr., M.D., C. Douglas Maynard, M.D., P. Pearse Morris, M.D., Diana Stindt, P.A., Frank M. Torti, M.D., L. Earl Watts, M.D., and Dr. Ronald J. Zagoria, M.D.
