WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – Wake Forest University School of Medicine ranked 39th in both research and primary care among the nation''s medical schools according to rankings in the current (April 8) issue of U.S. News & World Report.
The annual rankings of American''s Best Graduate Schools showed Wake Forest tied in research with Boston University, Brown University (Rhode Island) and the University of Maryland-Baltimore.
In a separate ranking of top schools in primary care medicine -- which includes pediatrics, family medicine, general internal medicine and general obstetrics and gynecology -- Wake Forest tied with Brown, the University of Nebraska College of Medicine, and the University of North Texas Health Science Center.
Last year, the school ranked 43rd in research and 47th in primary care.
