Medical Center Web Sites Win Awards

The Web Marketing Association's 2000 competition for corporate web sites awarded the Outstanding Web Site award to the Comprehensive Cancer Center of Wake Forest University's web http://www.wfubmc.edu/cancer.

The Outstanding Web Site award recognized the Comprehensive Cancer Center's site for work above and beyond the standard of excellence.

The association also awarded the Standard of Excellence award to the Medical Center's BestHealth http://www.besthealth.com and Brenner Children's Hospital and Health Services www.brennerchildrens.org web sites for achieving the standard of excellence for which all corporate web sites should strive.

"Being recognized for the third year in a row by the Web Marketing Association reaffirms our philosophy of providing consumers with the kind of information they need to make informed healthcare decisions via the Internet," said Jan Strohl, E-Business Marketing Manager for the Medical Center's web activities. "We continually strive to meet our web visitors' expectations through well designed web sites that provide easy access to current and comprehensive health care news and information."

In 1999, the Medical Center's web site http://www.wfubmc.edu/ won the Outstanding Web Site award, and in 1998 the Medical Center's web site won the Standard of Excellence award and the Best Non-Profit web site for its Brenner Children's site.

The Web Marketing Association is an independent organization founded with the purpose of evaluating and recognizing the standard of excellence on the World Wide Web.
