Federal Agency Head To Discuss Role of the Environment in Human Health

Kenneth Olden, Ph.D., director of the National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences, will address "The Role of the Environment in Human Illness" on April 27 at the Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center.

His talk will be in Babcock Auditorium at noon.

Since 1991, Olden has been director of the National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences (NIEHS) of the National Institutes of Health (NIH) He was the first African-American to become director of one of the 18 institutes of NIH. NIEHS is located in the Research Triangle Park, the only institute outside metropolitan Washington, D.C..

The symposium, which is free and open to the public, is part of the Medical Center''s annual observance of National Science and Technology Week, which is sponsored by the National Science Foundation.
