Advocate Health Hospitals Rank Among Safest in the Nation

Nineteen hospitals receive “A’s” from Leapfrog patient safety ratings

November 18, 2024

The Leapfrog Group has awarded 19 Advocate Health hospitals an “A” rating for excellence in patient safety on its fall 2024 patient safety report card – the most A’s received by the health system’s network ever.

Leapfrog analysts use publicly available data to look at 22 different safety measures and assign grades based on how well hospitals are doing to protect patients from harm. Measurements include the hospital’s ability to prevent errors, accidents, injuries and infections. Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grades are assigned to nearly 3,000 general acute-care hospitals across the nation twice a year.

“It’s an honor to see our hospitals recognized for their unwavering dedication to patient safety and quality care,” said Dr. Scott Rissmiller, executive vice president and chief physician executive for Advocate Health. “These grades are a testament to the relentless efforts of our health care professionals and the innovative strategies we employ to continually enhance the health and well-being of our communities. We are building on our shared legacy of excellence, growing impact and bringing the best together.”

Advocate Health operates under three primary care delivery brands: Advocate Health Care in Illinois; Atrium Health in Alabama, Georgia, North Carolina and South Carolina; and Aurora Health Care in Wisconsin.
