Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist Brenner Children’s Hospital, in partnership with iHeartMedia Greensboro, announced today the return of the iHeartMedia Greensboro’s popular radiothon “Rally for Kids.” The philanthropic event, which was a community favorite for more than a decade, was temporarily put on hold in 2020 due to the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic. The event will return on Friday, December 15, 2023.
“Rally for Kids” will be broadcast live from Brenner Children's Hospital’s Sophie's Place, a dedicated music therapy space made possible by generous philanthropic contributions. The event will be hosted by iHeartMedia Greensboro’s Mix 99.5 and HITS 100.3, and will air all day, from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m., bringing listeners the opportunity to join in the festivities of the season and support an important cause.
All funds raised during the radiothon will be directed to the Brenner Children's Hospital Fund. This fund plays a vital role in alleviating the financial burden on families navigating the illness of a child and contributes to expanding specialized programs, enhancing medical equipment and technology, attracting world-class medical providers, and investing in leading-edge research to discover new treatments and cures.
"As we bring back ‘Rally for Kids,’ I am thrilled to witness the rekindling of a decade-long tradition that has positively impacted the lives of countless children and families,” said Lisa Marshall, chief philanthropy officer and vice president at Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist. “‘Rally for Kids’ is a celebration of resilience, compassion, and the unwavering support our community provides to Brenner Children's Hospital. Especially during the holiday season, the spirit of giving to others is magnified. The event serves as a poignant reminder of the joy that comes from selfless acts of kindness and the profound impact we can have on those in need. Together, we are making a difference in the lives of those who need it most.”
Listeners are encouraged to tune in, participate, and make a difference by contributing to the Brenner Children's Hospital Fund. Donations can be made during the live broadcast by calling 336-716-4500 or online at brennerchildrens.org/radiorally.
