Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist Expands Pediatric Orthopaedic Services in High Point

Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist has expanded its pediatric orthopaedic services in the High Point area.

Dr. Alejandro Marquez-Lara, a pediatric orthopaedic surgeon with Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist Brenner Children’s and an assistant professor of orthopaedic surgery at Wake Forest University School of Medicine is seeing patients at Wake Forest Baptist’s Orthopaedic and Sports Medicine – High Point, located at 611 Lindsay St.

He provides care for children in areas such as hip dysplasia, scoliosis, fractures, trauma, sports medicine and general orthopaedics.

“I am so pleased to now be part of the Wake Forest Baptist team and to bring these additional pediatric orthopaedic services to the High Point community,” Marquez-Lara said. “We continue to grow and expand services in Guilford County to ensure more families have access to convenient and high-quality care.”

Marquez-Lara received his medical degree from Central University of Venezuela and completed his orthopaedic surgery residency at Wake Forest Baptist and a fellowship in pediatric orthopaedics at Cincinnati Children’s. In addition, Marquez-Lara received his Ph.D. in molecular medicine and translational science from Wake Forest University School of Medicine.

He also practices at Wake Forest Baptist’s Pediatric Orthopaedics – Medical Plaza Miller, located at 131 Miller St. in Winston-Salem.
