Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist has opened a new Orthopaedic & Sports Medicine clinic as part of the RISE Indoor Sports complex, adjacent to Truist Sports Complex, home of NC Fusion.
Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine - RISE will provide athletes, children, adults and the entire community with convenient injury evaluations, treatment, and physical therapy. Services include expert care for injuries and pain including sprains, fractures, ACL and MCL tears, rotator cuff tears and concussions. Patients can schedule a same- or next-day appointment or walk-in weekdays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. The clinic plans to expand these hours in the near future.
As the official health care provider for RISE and NC Fusion, Wake Forest Baptist also continues to provide medical coverage and athletic trainers during select indoor and outdoor tournaments to keep athletes safe, provide on-site medical attention for players and spectators, and connect families with orthopaedic experts as needed.
“We could not be more excited to begin our partnership with Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist,” said Lane Newsome, general manager at RISE Indoor. “Their orthopaedic, sports medicine, and physical therapy expertise and capabilities will immediately elevate RISE Indoor into one of the most inclusive sports facilities in the United States. Together we will provide a full service environment for our current and future families, athletes, and visitors at RISE Indoor.”
“We are so pleased to open this state-of-the-art clinic to connect even more families in our community with the region’s leading sports medicine team,” said L. Andrew Koman, M.D., chair of orthopaedic surgery at Wake Forest Baptist. “We will now be able to provide convenient, fast and comprehensive on-site care for athletes at RISE Indoor and NC Fusion, and to all of our families throughout the area.”
