U.S. News & World Report has released their annual Best Hospitals rankings and Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem is nationally recognized as High Performing in two adult specialties: cancer and neurology & neurosurgery.
In addition, Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center is recognized as High Performing in 11 common adult procedures and conditions: aortic valve surgery, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), colon cancer surgery, diabetes, heart attack, heart bypass surgery, heart failure, kidney failure, lung cancer surgery, prostate cancer surgery and stroke.
Two other hospitals within the Wake Forest Baptist system are also receiving accolades.
Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist High Point Medical Center is recognized as High Performing in five common adult procedures and conditions: COPD, heart attack, heart failure, kidney failure and stroke.
Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist Davie Medical Center is recognized as High Performing in four common adult procedures and conditions: back surgery (spinal fusion), hip replacement, knee replacement and pneumonia.

In all, Atrium Health has 11 hospitals with High Performing programs in a total of 18 common adult procedures and conditions.
