Leaders with Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist and Wake Forest University School of Medicine on Tuesday unveiled new signage at the entrance to Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem.
The sign, located at the intersection of Cloverdale Ave. and Medical Center Blvd., features the logos and names of both Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist and Wake Forest University School of Medicine – the academic core of Atrium Health.
“This new sign marks a new day for our academic learning health system and shows the strong bonds between our clinical, research and education missions,” said Dr. Julie Ann Freischlag, CEO of Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist, dean of Wake Forest University School of Medicine and chief academic officer of Atrium Health. “As our teammates, patients and visitors pass by the new signage, we hope they will be reminded of our shared commitment to improve health, elevate hope and advance healing, for everyone we serve.”
As part of their strategic combination with Wake Forest Baptist, Atrium Health is investing $700 million into the Triad region, including $450 million for a new care tower at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center that will house an upgraded emergency department, state-of-the-art operating rooms and enhanced adult intensive care units.
New signage and branding will be introduced in the coming months at other Wake Forest Baptist hospitals, clinics and offices throughout the region.
