Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist Offers Patients Access to Affordable Health Care Payment Plans

August 30, 2021

According to a recent Transunion report, two-thirds of consumers reported concern about their ability to pay for their medical expenses in 2021 due to the financial pressures of the COVID-19 pandemic. One in four Americans put off medical treatment altogether. A new payment program offered by Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist focuses on eliminating barriers to quality health care due to financial access to care.

The new payment program is now available through AccessOne and all patients with out-of-pocket medical costs qualify. AccessOne offers both no interest and flexible low interest plans that are customized to what a patient can afford. There are no hidden fees and no reports to the credit bureaus. Payments can be made by check, online, over the phone or through auto-pay.

Wake Forest Baptist’s Vice President of Patient Financial Services, Anthony Cunningham, understands the challenges facing many patients. “It has been more than 18 months since the pandemic began, and many of our patients are still feeling the financial impact of COVID-19,” he said. “Physical health and financial health are both important, and we want to ensure everyone has access to flexible, affordable payment plans so they can get the care they need, when they need it. Patients also have the convenience of combining all their Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist bills for their family into a single, manageable, monthly payment.”

AccessOne tools make it easy for Wake Forest Baptist to give all patients, regardless of their financial situation, access to payment plans. AccessOne is not a traditional credit card or a collection agency. Their program covers all patients regardless of credit balance or credit history.
