Did you know that 28.1 million Americans are living with heart failure? What exactly is heart failure and how is it treated? The term can be a bit confusing and unsettling. In essence it means that your heart is not functioning at optimal levels; it is not pumping blood as well as a healthy heart. It is a progressive condition which means it can get worse with time, so addressing the issue early is important.
It is also important to medically manage the condition and symptoms to help reduce the risk of further damage to the heart muscle and surrounding tissue.
Join Dr. Olivia Gilbert with the Wake Forest Baptist Health Heart and Vascular Center on Tuesday, February 12 at 11:30 am as she presents important information about the causes, symptoms and treatment of heart failure.
