Surgical oncology plays a key role in the diagnosis and treatment of breast cancer. Due to improved screening techniques, many patients have disease that is curable with surgery alone. In such cases, after surgery, the patient's follow-up care includes close observation and/or radiology and lab tests. Further, women who have surgery as part of their breast cancer treatment may choose breast reconstruction surgery to rebuild the shape and look of the breast.
Join Dr. Mark Arredondo and Dr. Elisa Stein, Wake Health Network Surgical Associates as they discuss the breast cancer surgical pathway from diagnosis to mastectomy from reconstruction to recovery
