The 31st annual Heart & Sole 5K and Fun Run brings together athletes of all abilities for a great cause, High Point Medical Center’s Heart Strides Program. Since 1985 Heart Strides has provided cardiac and pulmonary rehabilitation to patients in the community impacted by heart disease.
Gary Mitchell is one such patient who participated in the Heart Strides program following a massive heart attack often referred to as the “widow maker”. Two months following the episode, Gary was back to work and playing golf. In describing the importance of Heart Strides to his recovery, Gary commented, “Without Heart Strides I wouldn’t have the energy to do the things I love. Heart Strides gave me back my life and I couldn’t have done it on my own.”
Join us Saturday, September 16 for a fun morning of exercise all for a great cause. The Fun Run begins at 8:00 a.m. with the 5K Walk & Run kicking off at 8:30 a.m. Registration fees are $10 for the Fun Run and $30 for the 5K Run/Walk.
