For the 13th time, 99.5 WMAG will broadcast a two-day radiothon to benefit Brenner Children’s Hospital, part of Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center, on Thursday and Friday, Dec. 1-2.
On-air personalities Lora Songster and Gary Nolan will lead the event, which will be broadcast from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. each day. The funds raised are used to advance patient care at Brenner Children’s. The previous 12 radiothons have raised more than $1 million.
This year’s event also is receiving support from:
- Triad-area Great Clips locations, which will donate a percentage of haircut sales during November and provide a $2 off coupon for a return haircut and a cut-out sign to display in its salons for each $2 donation.
- 100 Quality Mart convenience stores throughout North Carolina that provided a cut-out sign that was displayed in their stores for each $1 donation from October to November 15.
- Triad-area Burger King locations, which provided a coupon book and a cut-out sign that was displayed in their restaurants during the month of June for each $1 donation.
Volunteers from American Airlines, Bayada Nurses, Great Clips and the Friends of Brenner Children’s Hospital are among those who will answer phones during the radiothon broadcast. Celebrity volunteers include Danny “Chocolate” Myers from Richard Childress Racing and Kate Garner, meteorologist with WGHP-TV Fox 8.
