Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center is pleased to once again be the official medical provider at the Winston-Salem Open tennis tournament, scheduled for Aug. 20-27.
Medical experts from Wake Forest Baptist will serve a dual role during this year’s tournament. While they will provide care for the competitors, they will also offer health information to spectators. Tournament medical director, sports medicine specialist Daryl Rosenbaum, M.D., will lead the Wake Forest Baptist sports medicine team as they advise athletes during the competition.
“It’s always a privilege to be able to use our experience in sports injury research, prevention and treatment to play such an important role at the tournament,” said Rosenbaum. “Tennis is such a beneficial sport for all ages and skills, and to be able to care for athletes of every level – from amateurs to professionals – is truly our passion.”
In addition to caring for the athletes, experts from Wake Forest Baptist will offer ticketholders many opportunities, including free shoe fittings, advice from a physical therapist, information about aging and Alzheimer’s programs and ways to protect children from severe injuries.
