Wake Forest Baptist Listed Among ‘Most Wired’ Hospitals

July 7, 2016

Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center has earned a place on the 18th annual Health Care’s Most Wired list.

Wake Forest Baptist is the only academic medical center in North Carolina and one of just eight health systems in the state on the list, which is compiled by Health Forum, a business enterprise of the American Hospital Association (AHA). The designation includes Wake Forest Baptist Health-Davie Medical Center and Wake Forest Baptist Health-Lexington Medical Center.

The Most Wired survey is designed to measure the use of information technology by U.S. hospitals and health systems. The 363 institutions on the 2016 list were selected on the basis of information collected from 680 participants representing more than 2,100 health care entities.

“Hospitals are breaking out of their traditional four walls and providing care where and when patients need it,” said Rick Pollack, the AHA’s president and CEO. “These Most Wired hospitals exemplify this transformation by harnessing technology, engaging patients and offering services remotely.”

The Most Wired list is published by Hospitals & Health Networks magazine.
