Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center has received a 2015 Torch Award for Ethics from the Better Business Bureau (BBB) of Northwest North Carolina.
The award recognizes companies whose leadership demonstrates impeccable character and whose practices meet the highest standards of integrity. These companies also generate a high level of trust among their employees, customers and communities. The competition has four categories based on number of employees.
Nominated by a relative of a patient, Wake Forest Baptist won the 175+ employees category. To qualify for the award, the Medical Center completed an application that included a wide range of questions regarding internal and external practices related to the treatment of employees and patients. Award criteria also included nods to the medical center’s reputation and involvement in the community as well as letters of recommendation.
BBB Northwest North Carolina is an affiliate of the BBB, a national nonprofit organization dedicated to setting and upholding high standards for fair and honest business behavior. Wake Forest Baptist’s application was one of two regional submissions selected by the local BBB affiliate for a national BBB Torch Award. The winners will be announced in October.
