NASHVILLE, TENN. D1 Sports Training & Therapy announced today that NBA All-Star, Chris Paul is joining its partnership with Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center to open a sports training and physical therapy/rehabilitation facility in Winston-Salem, N.C. this summer. D1 Winston-Salem will be D1’s 29th facility in the country.
D1 Winston-Salem, scheduled to open in June, will focus on training all athletes from beginner to avid with an emphasis on ages 7 to 22. D1 believes replicating top college and pro-training environments is the best setting for student-athletes and adults to reach their goals. Everyone who walks through the doors of the state-of-the-art facility will be trained and treated like an elite athlete.
Each D1 facility has a pro-athlete partner. Chris Paul has teamed up with D1 and Wake Forest Baptist to bring this training facility to his hometown.
D1, The Home of Athletic-Based Training, specializes in making athletes faster, stronger, more agile, and explosive, while also building character. D1's adult programs are suitable for any gender and fitness level with results-driven programs geared towards weight loss, general health, strength and endurance.
As D1 Winston-Salem’s medical partner, Wake Forest Baptist will provide on-site orthopaedics/sports medicine and sports physical therapy/rehabilitative services to its patients and D1 facility members.

D1 Winston-Salem’s facility is located off of Stratford Road at 1901 Mooney Street near Hanes Mall. The 43,487 square foot facility boasts state-of-the-art exercise equipment, a full-sized weight room, an 85x35 yard indoor turf field, two basketball courts and a full physical therapy/rehabilitation clinic operated by Wake Forest Baptist’s team of sports medicine physicians and clinicians who specialize in orthopaedic surgery, family medicine, physical therapy and massage therapy.
D1 has 28 locations across the country with pro athlete, sports medicine and in-house therapy partners. Pro athlete co-owners include Peyton Manning, Philip Rivers, Tim Tebow, Chipper Jones, RGIII, Herschel Walker & Jason Witten.
