Cheers! A Toast to Children’s Health Set for April 25

April 11, 2014

The 10th annual Cheers! A toast to children’s health event will be held from 6:30 – 9:30 p.m. on Friday, April 25 at Old Salem Visitor Center. Each year, this event attracts a sell-out crowd eager to taste fine wines from around the world as well as wine and beer selections from local vineyards and microbreweries.

In addition to the grand tasting, this year’s chairs, Susan and Mark Conger and Julie Groves have said that a selection of gourmet foods will be provided by the area’s finest restaurants and caterers.

Since its debut in 2005, Cheers! has raised more than $750,000 for Brenner Children’s Hospital, a part of Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center. Funds raised through this event help the faculty and staff of Brenner Children’s to provide the highest quality medical care in a setting that reflects a deep understanding of children’s special needs.

“Brenner Children’s Hospital is the leading full-service children’s hospital in western North Carolina and one of the best in the country,” said Cheers! promotions chair Stacy Petronzio. “For all who care about children’s health in our community and our region, Brenner Children’s is a great place to get involved and to help make a difference.”
