Portion of Fees Will Benefit Brenner Patients and Families
WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – Nov. 18, 2011 – Motorists who wish to display their support for Brenner Children’s Hospital at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center can now order special North Carolina license plates for their vehicles.
The plates, which will feature the Brenner Children’s Hospital logo, are available for order for $30 through the Brenner Children’s Hospital development office.
For each license plate ordered, $20 will go to the Family Centered Care and Children’s Cancer Patient Support funds at Brenner.
Before the state Division of Motor Vehicles can begin issuing the specialty license plates, at least 300 license plate applications and fees must be submitted by April 1, 2013. If the minimum number is not met, each individual who paid to order a plate will be reimbursed.
The $30 is an annual fee, due in addition to the regular license fee when the validation sticker is purchased. When the new plate is delivered, it will include a new sticker and registration card, with the registration due date remaining the same.
