The Journal of the American Academy of Physician Assistants (JAAPA), has named Reamer L. Bushardt, Pharm.D, R.Ph, PA-C, chair and program director for the Department of Physician Assistant Studies at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center, as the new editor in chief.
JAAPA is an award-winning peer-reviewed clinical journal of the American Academy of Physician Assistants, whose mission is to support ongoing education and advancement of physician assistants. The journal covers current information and research on clinical and health policies, as well as professional issues.
“I am both enthusiastic about and humbled by the opportunity to serve the physician assistant (PA) profession as JAAPA’s new editor in chief,” said Bushardt. “The editorial board and I are committed to supporting PAs and the advancement of our profession.”
In his editorial for the July issue, Reamer says the Journal will serve PAs through the publication of evidence-based clinical articles, innovative approaches to CME, timely messages about professional and policy issues, and more concise research that describes and guides practice.
Bushardt is a member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants and Physician Assistant Education Association.
