Wake Forest Baptist Holds Cancer Transitions Program

Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center presents its first Livestrong Cancer Transitions Program beginning June 2. This free six-week workshop will help cancer survivors make the transition from active treatment to post-treatment care.

The workshop will include exercise activities tailored to cancer survivor abilities, a panelist of expert physicians, nurses, nutritionists and fitness specialists from Wake Forest Baptist and tips for relaxation, stress management and nutritious eating.

Adult survivors age 21 years and older of any cancer diagnosis who have completed active anti-cancer treatment within the past 24 months are invited to attend.

Each workshop session will be held from 4:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. at BestHealth? in Hanes Mall. A light supper will be provided to attendees during each session.

June 2, Session 1: Get Back to Wellness: Take Control of Your Survivorship

June 9, Session 2: Exercise for Wellness: Customized Exercise

June 16, Session 3: Emotional Health and Well-Being: From Patient to Survivor

June 23, Session 4: Nutrition Beyond Cancer

June 30, Session 5: Medical Management Beyond Cancer: What You Need to Know

July 7, Session 6: Life Beyond Cancer
