Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center will hold the 26th annual Burn Reunion on Tuesday, July 5 at the Winston-Salem DASH baseball game for burn survivors, their families and burn center staff.
This event will reunite former burn survivors with each other and medical staff that have worked with them throughout their recovery. In a suite off the first baseline, medical center employees will be able to see the progress their former patients have made while survivors share their experiences.
“My wife and I have been attending the Burn Reunion for the last eight years. We find it to be a great time to catch up with friends, talk to the nurses, aids, therapists and doctors and meet new people in a relaxed environment outside the hospital. The food is wonderful and getting to watch a DASH game is fun,” said Frank Hensley, Wake Forest Baptist volunteer and burn survivor. “I was burned 54 years ago and did not have such an event available. Had I been able to attend an event like this, life would have been a lot different.”
Gates open at 5 p.m., the picnic begins at 6 p.m. and the baseball game starts at 7 p.m. Anyone below the age of 3 can attend for free. To reserve tickets for this event, please RSVP by calling Tim Clodfelter at (336) 716-5354 before June 28.
