McCall Receives Honored Speaker Award
W. Vaughn McCall, M.D., M.S., professor and chair of the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Medicine at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center, has received the Honored Speaker Award by the International Society for Neurostimulation. This award is given as an acknowledgement for long-term service to the field of therapeutic brain stimulation.
Brown Promoted to Assistant Director of Nurse Anesthesia Program
Courtney Brown, C.R.N.A, M.S.N, was recently promoted to assistant director of the Nurse Anesthesia Program at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center. A graduate of the program, Brown has served as the clinical education coordinator since 2008. With expertise in simulation-based education, Brown has served in consulting roles as a simulation expert to the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools, to the American Board of Nursing Specialties, and was an invited speaker at the national Assembly of (Anesthesia) School Faculty. Brown is pursuing a Ph.D. degree with research in the causative factors for postoperative cognitive dysfunction.
Wake Forest Baptist Researchers Receive Recognition Award
Jianli Bi, M.D., Ph.D., research fellow in the Center of Research for Obstetrics and Gynecology at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center, received the Postdoctoral Research Recognition Award at the Experimental Biology meeting in Anaheim, CA. This award was presented by the Water and Electrolyte Homeostasis Section of the American Physiological Society.
Lijun Tang, Ph.D., research fellow in the Center of Research for Obstetrics and Gynecology at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center, received the Research Recognition Award at the Experimental Biology meeting in Anaheim, CA. This award was presented by the Endocrinology and Metabolism Section of the American Physiological Society.
