WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – Thomas E. Ingram of Clemmons has been named director of facilities planning and construction at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center. He began work in his new position on June 29.
Ingram was formerly project manager for Piedmont Triad Research Park. In his new position, he will serve as a member of the management team that interacts with all levels of Medical Center faculty and staff to evaluate and develop facilities plans and oversee all aspects of project management functions, including architect services, construction, interior design, purchasing/procurement and administrative support. The Medical Center typically has about 150 capital improvement projects per year.
Ingram replaces, and will report to, Karen H. Huey, who was named vice president for facilities planning and construction earlier this year.
“We are extremely fortunate to have found someone with the qualifications and experience of Tom Ingram within our own organization,” Huey said. “With his experience leading the construction team during the first phase of the research park’s expansion, Tom’s skills will be invaluable as we finalize and begin to implement our master facilities plan.”
Ingram said, “I’m very excited to have the opportunity to expand my responsibilities here at Wake Forest Baptist. We have many talented people working here at this great institution and I am very proud to be associated with it.”
Ingram earned a B.S. in business administration and economics from High Point University and a master of arts in liberal studies from Wake Forest University.
Ingram, who lives in Clemmons, is very active in the community and has a special interest in programs that serve youth and young adults. He is a member of the High Point University Board of Trustees and has served two terms as chairman of the university’s Board of Visitors. His other civic activity includes the YMCA, Forsyth Technical Community College Foundation Board, Rotary Club of Clemmons, Arts Council of Winston-Salem, Family Services Board, Brenner Children’s Hospital Advisory Board and Winston-Salem/Forsyth County Schools.
