WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – A new outpatient diagnostic imaging center has been opened by Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center’s Department of Radiology to better serve patients and provide state-of-the art imaging services within the greater Winston-Salem area.
Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Imaging is offering MRI, CT, ultrasound, digital mammography screening, bone densitometry and digital X-ray. The center will also offer limited pediatric services.
The center was developed as a joint venture between North Carolina Baptist Hospital, Wake Forest University Health Sciences and Outpatient Imaging Affiliates, LLC.
The outpatient center is located at 265 Executive Park Blvd. in Stratford Executive Park with free and easy-access parking. The hours are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday. In most cases, patients will be scheduled the same or next day with results in 24 hours and prompt interpretations by sub-speciality radiologists. All commercial and government insurance plans will be accepted.
“The hospital has always done an exceptional job taking care of patients,” said Allen D. Elster, M.D., F.A.C.R., chairman of the Radiology Department at Wake Forest Baptist. “The imaging center extends the hospital’s extensive services platform by addressing patients’ and referring physicians’ demands for more patient-friendly locations. We continue to offer advanced imaging technology combined with quality service by a caring and attentive staff.”
For referring physicians, a Web portal is available to view patient images and results, and a radiologist is onsite to discuss patients’ cases.
