October 30, 2008

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – Two new positions have been filled at Wake Forest University Physicians (WFUP), part of Wake Forest Unversity Baptist Medical Center.

David Hope is the new associate vice president for faculty practice operations. Hope will help centralize clinical practice operations in areas such as patient flow, access and scheduling. He comes to Wake Forest Baptist from Gastroenterology Associates in Ocala, Fla., and has also worked at Catholic Health Initiatives, the Ochsner Clinic in Louisiana, and Premier Healthcare in Atlanta.

Robin Shuping is the new director of reimbursement and coding/billing compliance. She comes to Wake Forest Baptist from Novant Health, where she held a similar responsibility over a large portion of their physician network.

“These new positions are a step toward developing a more mature and advanced faculty practice, as part of the ongoing restructuring of the Medical Center,” said Robin Meter, vice president of WFU Health Sciences and executive director of WFUP. “We want to streamline the process by which referring physicians interface with our health system in making appointments for their patients.”
