Blumstein Elected VP of AAEM Board

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – Harold Blumstein, M.D., of Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center, was recently elected vice president of the American Academy of Emergency Medicine (AAEM).
Blumstein, an associate professor and medical director of the Emergency Department, will serve as vice president until 2010.
The AAEM is the democratic, specialty society of emergency medicine with more than 5,000 members. Fellows of AAEM are certified by either the American Board of Emergency Medicine (ABEM) or the American Osteopathic Board of Emergency Medicine (AOBEM). The AAEM was established in 1993 to promote fair and equitable practice environments necessary to allow emergency physicians to deliver the highest quality of patient care.
Blumstein received his medical degree from Temple University School of Medicine in Philadelphia and completed a residency and fellowship at the Medical College of Pennsylvania. He is board certified by the ABEM and specializes in pain management.
