High Point Regional has joined The HealthCare Alliance, a corporation formed in February by Moses Cone Health System and Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center.

Founded in 1904, High Point is a not-for-profit system whose anchor, High Point Regional Hospital, is a modern 400-bed hospital recognized for outstanding patient care.

High Point Regional will remain an independent organization as will Moses Cone and Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center. “Our goal in joining The Alliance is to strengthen the working relationship with our neighboring providers, improve quality and explore opportunities to reduce costs,” said Jeff Miller, Chief Executive Officer of High Point Regional.

“High Point’s joining us will enhance the ability of The Alliance to improve healthcare in the Piedmont Triad,” said Tim Rice, President and CEO, Moses Cone Health System. He noted that the three major population centers of the Triad now are represented in The Alliance.

The HealthCare Alliance, LLC, a limited liability company, is the organization through which the three organizations work collaboratively. “Together, we can improve care to patients we serve while being in a stronger position to achieve our individual missions,” said Donny Lambeth, Interim President and Chief Operating Officer of North Carolina Baptist Hospital, part of Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center.

“By participating in the clinical, education and research programs that Moses Cone and Wake Forest Baptist offer, we will enhance our services to patients, our physicians and employees,” said Miller.

High Point Regional, Moses Cone, Wake Forest Baptist and The HealthCare Alliance, LLC are separate legal organizations. Their governing boards retain full authority and responsibility over the operations of their organizations.
